Default At least make the capture signet cheaper

Right now pretty much the only way to get free skills is through quests. Even then you'll have to end up spending over 150 plat to unlock all your skills. And I can't even begin to imagine how those poor people with low level characters are going to expand their skill list with so little money. At the very least Anet should reduce the cost of the capture signet, that way it'll be affordable, but you still have to work to find and capture your skill.

Yeah, I was surprised to find that the Signet of Capture no longer costs half of whatever you're paying for normal skills. Seems like a bad idea to me... if it's going to take more effort, it should cost less.

Now I'm really grateful that I cashed in all my skill points for enough SoC to get all the elite skills. Only 7 more to go now.

And with farming nerfed, it is hard to get enough gold to even buy a SoC. Other then doing runs, and spending x amoutn of hours grinding, then mabe you can cap that one skill, which after trying it, you find worthless. -_-

Well they DID put a post up on the official website telling people they should probably get their skills while they were still cheap..

As for expanding your skill list on the cheap, do all the skill quests you find. Personally, I get enough gold while farming exp that I can afford to buy my non-elites and my SoC's.

Doesn't take hours of 'farming' to get a decent amount of money now.

I'd like to know how skill acquisition has become "significantly easier." I haven't seen any new uberquests that give you 1000 skills ... seems the same as always.

How about they buy a good amount of skills for only a few plat and already have a decent amount of diversity?

15k exp per skill instead of 20k

On a side note, I got all skill unlocks no problem, no PvP only PvE. It isn't hard unless you only use one character.

Ex. Use a Mo/Me and a W/N --> 4/6 professions
Use a Mo/W and a E/Me --> 4/6 professions
Use a Me/N and a R/E --> 4/6
Use a N/Mo and a W/E --> 4/6

There are 30 primary-secondary professions. Choose 2 or 3 primaries and 2 or 3 secondaries. If you have a E/Me that doubles as a E/Mo --> thats 3 professions' skills.

Yes, that would be the skill points part of it, but the update "forewarning" stated that both skill points and skills themselves would be easier to obtain. As far as I've seen, the only change in avaiability in skills themselves is that there's a new trader, and all the prices went up. I would've expected at least that Anet would've done something to make getting skills themselves easier, like make SoCs obtainable through quests, or at least not jack up the price of them 500g.

To me, obtaining a skill means having it... it's not "easier" when the only changes are the means rising in price and everything else constant..

Update Forecast - Friday, September 2

As you have noted in recent weeks, the Guild Wars economy has become much more stable. With the release of the Sorrow's Furnace Update on September 7, we will be making a number of important economic and balance changes. Many things will become significantly easier to acquire, including skill points and skills. But the gold cost of learning a skill from a trainer will be somewhat more expensive for most players.

Oh, but I was under the impression that what you speak of is the essence of MMORPGs.

Well if they made the signet of capture cheaper to buy, then everyone would just buy them and capture the skills they need and save thousands. Although, it would actually require you to skill fight your way to the bosses that have the skills you need... hard to say if it would be balanced or not.

I didn't like the change they made. As a result of their warning, I ended up spending a LOT more gold than I needed to. Since this change, my warrior is saving a gold, but my monk is already at a platinum per skill and I'm almost at the desert. I was planning on just getting him through the game ascended and quickly but now the cost of skills would be too much.

Elites are easier to get because the bosses now have set spawns instead of random ones. I can't tell you how many trips I used to have to make because the right boss wouldn't spawn. It was a lot of time wasted, and since casual players don't have that much time to waste, this is definitely a phenomenal improvement.
